Orenda Atelier was founded with a desire to make bespoke fine jewellery feel more open and easier to navigate, while preserving the expertise and level of craft that make it exceptional. Centred on bespoke and limited designs, Orenda takes a more personal approach to how jewellery is chosen and made. Clients are given the space to shape something individual, while the design, sourcing and making remain in the hands of specialists. The idea is simple: exceptional jewellery should not feel inaccessible. The experience can be more direct, more personal and easier to understand, without compromising the standards, materials or craftsmanship behind each piece.
Orenda works with a carefully selected network of specialists whose knowledge spans stone sourcing, goldsmithing, setting and finishing. These relationships are an essential part of how the jewellery is made, allowing each design to be approached according to what it actually requires rather than passed through the same production route every time. A particular stone, setting or construction can demand a different kind of expertise, and the people involved are chosen accordingly. This also creates space to explore more individual ideas, materials and techniques, with decisions made in direct response to the piece rather than the limitations of a predetermined process.
Working this way gives Orenda greater freedom in what can be created, while ensuring that every stage of the piece is handled by someone whose expertise belongs there. The partners behind the work are therefore not simply suppliers at the end of the process. Their knowledge is part of what makes it possible to take an idea from its earliest form through to a finished piece with the level of precision and consideration expected of Orenda.
“The hand is the cutting edge of the mind.”
– Jacob Bronowski
Precious metals are made to endure. Gold in particular can be refined, reworked and passed on without losing the qualities that have made it valuable for centuries. We consider colour, weight and finish from the earliest stages of a design, knowing that these choices affect both how a piece feels when worn and how it will develop over time.
We work with both natural and lab-grown diamonds. They share the same chemical composition and crystal structure, while offering clients different choices around origin, rarity, size and investment. Natural diamonds carry the history of geological formation over immense periods of time, while lab-grown diamonds make it possible to explore larger or more unusual stones within a different budget. Both have a place within our work, depending on the piece and the person commissioning it.
Sapphires form deep within the earth, with trace elements influencing everything from pale, washed tones to deep blues, greens, yellows and pinks. That natural variation is part of what makes them so compelling. We are drawn to stones with character, including subtle shifts in colour and individual markings that make each one impossible to repeat exactly.
